David's life.
- Born July 4th, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Rick, his older brother, was always pissed he
never got a parade on his birthday
- His father worked in the oil industry and moved to
Columbus, OH in 1962
- Dad and family were
transferred to Frankfurt, Germany in 1966
- Places visited: Norway,
Lisbon, Gibraltar, Malaga, Madrid, Majorca, Granada, Netherlands.
- The family moved to Munich,
Germany in 1967
- They visited Hungary,
Austria, East Berlin, Cruised from Venice to Greek islands, Cairo,
Alexandra, Yugoslavia, Tel Aviv, Czechoslovakia, Rome
- David and Rick
attended Summer camp in Lake Lausanne, Switzerland
- They moved back to Findlay,
Ohio in 1968
- The family decided they had
not had enough of Europe, so dad changed companies to be transferred back
over to London in 1969 . David attended a British elementary school
- The family travelled
throughout the British Isles, Ireland, Scotland
- They moved to Hamburg in 1970
- Visited: Portugal,
Morocco, Norway, Sweden, Kenya, Tanzania, Canary Islands, Italy,
Holland, Belgium, France, Denmark, Austria, Turkey, Soviet Union (shhh,
don.t tell the Homeland Security)
- David was the star
basketball player of his high school, starting Varsity as a freshmen
- The family left Hamburg in
1978 for Houston, TX. where he completed this final year of high school in
1979
- David then went off to college
at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
- He transferred to University
of California, Riverside in 1983
- David majored in Computer
Science and graduated in 1986
- Soon after graduation he
applied to work at Systems Research & Applications, where he was interviewed
by his future wife Suz
- He stayed with SRA for 2
years and cut his teeth working government contracts
- He joined Aerojet in 1988,
known as "UCR West"
- He worked in Bldg 200 as a
software engineer
- David was a driving force
in promoting the Basketball, Tennis, and Golf clubs
- As many Aerojet employees
do, he came and went, and came and went, and came again
- David married Suz in 1990
- They lived in Redlands
with Scarlet and Ashley (their Dalmatians)
- Moved from Redlands to
Claremont in 1993
- David moved to Northern
California where he worked for a little over a year at various companies
- In 1995 he came back to
Claremont and Aerojet
- Where he was hired by Tim
Woodington
- Tim hired him on the
condition that David would give him "4 strokes a side"
- Worked on DSP and other
projects
- He then started his
"walkabout" in 2000
- His travels took him
throughout the US and Canada
- If he knew your address
you probably got a call that he was coming through your town.
- In 2002 he visited England,
Germany, Malta, Spain, Kenya, and Tanzania
- During 2003 and 2004 he worked
as a consultant for various technology companies
- In 2005 he returned to
Aerojet and later that year purchased his home in
Glendora
- During the past 3 years he
spent his time coaching soccer, continuing his world travels, playing tennis
and golf, and raising DD
David will be missed by many and is survived by
his father "Fletch", his older brother Rick, and his two nieces Michelle
(15) and Nicole (12)
